Unicode Support (means: display chin, jap, kor characters!)

Hi everybody,

don't know whether this is the correct thread. Sorry if its not.

I hope you all know that there's the newest beta of ultrastar deluxe is realesed. You can get the 1.1 beta on this site:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ultrastardx/

In a few weeks they should release a final version. But what I really wanted to say is, that this version is supporting unicode font, so now it's possible to use chinese, japanese or korean characters!

^just want to say its not, Ultrastar deluxe 1.1 beta doesnt support unicode notepad.

I just downloaded this version to give it a try and my korean songs work perfectly fine. But you still can't edit korean text in the built in editor.. T-T

Well I already worked with the test version of this USVersion and it didn't worked there either so I didn't expected this to change ^^

So what now. Did usdx 1.1b display asian characters?

It does display the characters but you can't edit them in the built in editor

I don't know exactly what you meant with editing in the editor, but I've just checked it

Ultrastar Deluxe 1.1 RC can display UTF-8 (that means chinese characters etc) in the game AND in the build-in editor. so you're able to alter the bars.

To all asian song creators. Make songs with original characers or you do two versions. one with latin one with original characters.

I might start revising my songs now, with two versions, one which displays Chinese and another with just chinese jyutping/pinyin

But too bad, there's no duet mode

there will be. there is actually already built one, but its a private mod of usdx. but it shows that there will be.

I had a question

does anyone know if there is a way to move the lyrics (which adds in the ultrastar file) to put them top of the screen (instead of down)

we could display the lyrics in pinyin in the top, and the symbol lyrics in the video on the bottom.

one Asian and one non-Asian, can then sing the same song
if the symbol lyrics are on the original video of course ...

I don't think it's possible. We have to add a mod or ask developper to create this.

ah thats a shame, would be really great if they released it.

I have already remade some of my old chinee songs from english->chinese, just need the time to release them. But im not sure if they are ready for it

I have tried to modify the text to do that, but it seems its not really possible, the lyrics still get in the way
