    Disable the subtitles?

Post  TheBuzzer on Thu Apr 16, 2015 5:27 pm

I know some chinese songs have lyrics and the subtitles track is only in pinyin.

I am wondering is there a way to disable the subtitles from showing so the game will still work but it wont show the subtitles on the bottom?

Just to clarify, you mean play the song normally and score points as usual, but to not have any text at the bottom with the lyrics?

I experimented around with the various party modes available in Ultrastar Deluxe World Party.

There are a couple of options (blind / jukebox) where you can hide the notes and/or score, but I haven't found anything that actually hides the lyrics... No

Isn't it possible to just erase the lyrics on the .txt file, but still with the toning ?

Like puting a space in place of the syllabs, or just nothing ?

But it'll mean you'll lose the lyrics if you do that (or you create a new .txt file where there are no lyrics but only the toning).

    It's a good question !

Ah, it's not only the lyrics that you don't want but the box too ?

You only want to see the video + the points bars ?

    Don't know if it's possible.

Did somebody found a solution? If you want to sing chinese it is kinda hard/strange to sing with the pinyin >.<
I think one option is to enter one syllable after one syllable from pinyin to chinese characters in the text doc?

    Well, you'll have a problem.

In regards to chinese, one character is one word, and have various sound.
An example : 泡沫 = Pao Mo. For "泡", you'll have two sounds 'pa' en 'o' (so two bars in Ultrastar)

So if you want to change pinyin to chinese, you'll face various problems 'cause you can't dissociate
a chinese character into two (or more).

So you'll have to choose and erase one of the syllabs of the .txt file, ... (chose wisely)

An example : G.E.M.'s 泡沫 first sentence :

    : 1 2 8 阳
    : 4 4 8
    : 13 1 8 光
    : 15 2 8
    : 22 1 8 下
    : 24 5 8
    : 34 3 8 的
    : 45 2 6 泡
    : 48 3 6
    : 55 8 6 沫
    - 71

I leaved a blank for the second sound (sometimes it's better to chose to leave a blank for the first sound).
It worked with me. Also, don't forget to erase the spaces (there should be only one space between
the last number and your character) Otherwise you'll have something like that : 阳 光 下的泡 沫
    in place of 阳光下的泡沫

Actually I make songs in pinyin, but I though of doing them in chinese characters too.
But I was doing that next year (I want to finish some songs before working on making my songs with chinese characters).
